Fun fact: my boyfriend is Greek and I’m Italian so each year we celebrate two Easters, Roman Catholic Easter and Greek Orthodox Easter, which are usually a week apart. I love being able to embrace dishes from both of our cultures and one day continue to pass them down.
One dessert that is traditionally served for Greek Easter is Galaktoboureko (ga-lahk-toe-boo-ree-ko). It is a delicious custard filled phyllo pastry, drizzled with lots of butter, baked until golden brown, and drenched in a honey-lemon simple syrup.
MyGreekDish had a great recipe to follow. I’d suggest watching a few videos as well.
